How to Come Correct

Protocols, guidelines and invitations for how to engage us with respect

The work of Sogorea Te Land Trust is possible because of the work, strength and struggle of long lineages of Indigenous people, matriarchs, warriors, and culture keepers.

We also receive critical support from allies and accomplices  of many different backgrounds,  coming together to build a new kind of relationship to the land we are on together.

But we all are still in a world founded on the theft of the land  and lives of Indigenous people.   As a society we are really just beginning to learn how to navigate what it means for allies to acknowledge the history of the land we are on and then to go beyond that  to build meaningful deep relationships that honor the past and to engage with the knowledge, time, energy and resources of Indigenous people in respectful and reciprocal ways.

We are working collective guidelines around these issues to share. Stay Tuned!

Our work of rematriation, returning Indigenous land to Indigenous people, is only possible with your support.
